Here’s the formula:

Step 1: Pattern Interrupt

Break the mental script of “salesperson calling.”

Step 2: Sorting Question

Ask something that identifies where they’re at — without pressure or fluff.

👇 Try This With a Past Client or Someone in Your Database:

“Hey [Name], Yea this is just [First Name], [First Name Last Name] from Real — does that ring a bell or sound familiar?”

(Let them respond)


**“Cool — last time we chatted you mentioned [thinking about moving up / still exploring options].


Just curious — is that still the case, or has anything shifted lately?”**


Other Variations to Test:

Pattern Interrupt:

“Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out with something real quick?”


Sorting Questions:

  • “When we last talked you were thinking about [X] — just curious, are you still in research mode or has it become a little more urgent?”
  • “Still planning on [timeline] or has that changed?”
